Manual Lymph Drainage & Combined Decongestive Therapy

This is a gentle, non-invasive manual technique that has a powerful effect on the lymphatic system of the body. It assists lymph flow and aids the drainage of waste products from the tissues. This can greatly reduce recovery time & facilitate healing and drainage post injury or surgery, burns, edema, ulcers, CRPS and lymphedema. Chand, Vignesh and Stephanie offer the Vodder method of lymphatic treatment.

With every treatment you are given a homecare plan to learn how to overcome your injuries more independantly as well. Don't be intimidated by the name, we're all athletes in our own way!

Prenatal massage can also help alleviate pregnancy back pain and increase blood circulation, which can provide more oxygen and nutrients to the baby.

Infant massage has many benefits ranging from improved sleep patterns to reducing discomfort caused by teething. We also offer therapeutic treatments for infant TMJ and torticollis which can present as painful latching or trouble with milk transfer when breastfeeding.

Cupping - Trenton Massage and Lymphedema Clinic

Cupping

Cupping therapy has been used in massage for decades. It is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that was used for many diseases or skin conditions, and is now known for its use in western massage therapy or physiotherapy.

Cupping helps to activate blood vessels in the muscles, increasing blood flow to a particular location. This blood flow has a significant effect on stiffened or weakened muscles, making it a great choice for athletes. Cupping has been known to be suitable for many other issues, such as increasing circulation, body aches, aiding the respiratory system and facial paralysis (Bell’s Palsy).

Hot Stone Massage

Hot water-warmed jade stones, used in along with Swedish massage techniques, penetrate a warm soothing heat that encourages deep relaxation of the muscles. The use of these stones within a therapeutic massage enhances the relaxation response of tissues and reduces delayed onset muscle soreness that sometimes is felt after deep tissue massage.

Indian Head Massage

The aim of Indian head massage is to release tension in the muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders. Indian head massage can also help with relieving fatigue, insomnia, headaches, and sinusitis. The experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving a feeling of increased energy, concentration and revitalization.
This technique is performed with circular strokes on acupressure points of the head, neck and shoulders. Warm coconut oil is poured over the hair and massaged into the scalp and hair. Warm towels are used during the treatment for a totally relaxing experience. We do not have showering facilities at our clinic, so this treatment is best scheduled at the end of your day or on a day where you have time to wash the oils out of your hair. This is a wonderful treatment for headaches, eye strain and sinus problems. Some of the benefits of this treatment include: Release of anxiety, fatigue and depression; Reduced tension in head and neck; Improved sleep; Improved alertness and concentration; Is calming, comforting and promotes a feeling of well-being; Improves joint mobility in neck and shoulders; Increases energy levels; Strengthens the immune system; Strong, healthy, shiny hair; Improved lymphatic drainage.

Flat knit, circular knit, custom or not, we have options to order measured-to-fit garments for any area of the body needing compression, along with the knowledge and skill behind the lymphatic system to get you into the right garments!

GLA:D Canada Program: Osteoarthritis of Hip and/or Knee

GLA:D Canada is an 8-week education and exercise program for those with stiff and/or painful knees and/or hips, or those with knee and/or hip osteoarthritis. Research from GLA:D in Denmark shows participants report less pain, reduced use of pain killers, fewer individuals on sick leave and being more physically active.
The 8-week program is made up of: 2 Education Sessions and 12 Neuromuscular Exercise Sessions. This is offered through our Physiotherapist and may be covered by extended health benefits!
